With over 45 years of experience as an architect, I offer design excellence and exceptional client service in residential, commercial and public buildings.

My designs reflect the individual character of each client, as well as the specific aspects of the building site. I emphasize functionality, a strong relationship to the outdoors, and a practical approach to sustainability and the environment.

I take seriously how my buildings are assembled and as a result, my drawings are detailed and extensive. This has fostered long-term relationships with contractors.

After receiving a degree with honors in Environmental Design at UCSC, I began my career in 1978 with the designer Clarke Shultes. I moved to Thacher & Thompson Architects in 1982, where I worked for twenty years. Since 2003, I have been a sole proprietor of my own architectural firm.
