Italian revival home on coastal bluff in Central California

Sitting above Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz, this Italian Renaissance Revival was a remodel of an existing nondescript 1930s triplex. The building was converted into a duplex with a reverse plan to afford better views of Monterey Bay. An elevator serving three levels was included.. The architectural detailing is based on Italian architecture of the 1400-1600s, and elements were custom molded using plaster and foam technology. The home is compatible with the surrounding historic neighborhood made up of Craftsman, Shingle-Style, Spanish & Italian Revival and Seabright Cottage styles.
